Rochmon Record Club Listening Party, Bruce Springsteen – “Darkness on the Edge of Town” at Universal Preservation Hall, 25 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs. Bruce Springsteen’s first three albums traced The Boss’s move from the swamps of Jersey to center stage all over the world. Springsteen’s 3rd album, “Born to Run”, saved Bruce’s career and asked big questions about putting away our past and coming to terms with the pressure of growing up. “Tramps like us!” Bruce was bound for mega stardom. “Darkness on the Edge of Town”, released 3 years later, asks the question “What do I do now?”. Bruce and his E Street Band made a great record of 10 hard rocking Bruce songs including “Adam Raised a Cain”, “Badlands”, “Prove It All Night”, and arguably one of the best car songs ever, “Racing in the Street”. We’ll listen to Bruce Springsteen’s “Darkness on the Edge of Town” on UPH’s state of the art sound system.
